We don’t often bring steak or dessert when we go camping, but when it’s just an easy paddle up site for one night, it’s nice to have a special treat. In this video, we show you how we cook our steaks Chicago style and finish off the night with Apple Crisp cooked over the coals.

Apple Crisp Recipe:
3 apples sliced thinly
1/4 cup sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup quick oats
1/2 tsp baking powder

A month long descent of the Northwest Territories Kuujjua River in the Arctic Archipelago, followed by 120-kilometers of paddling on the Arctic Ocean. He's also completed a 33-day canoe expedition via four rivers including the Adlatok in northern Quebec and Labrador.
